The home of Barons FC is Hardwick Heath, which is located just outside of
the town centre, and is ideal for the majority of players at the club because
of the short travelling distance. As the foundations for a new club were laid,
something was missing - a suitable team badge.
Daryl Tooke, the only member of the original committee left in the current squad,
came up with the idea after one of their regular club meetings at the pub. Daryl
took the idea off one of the Greene King beer mats around at the time. The Mat
pictured a knight on, and after a lot of detailed research Daryl came up with
the current logo, with a little help from a few Greene King products!
So Barons Football Club was born, and like any team players come and go, results
are good and bad, but the traditions and foundations still stand today as in
1985, to ensure Barons is not only a successful team to play for, but a great
club to be involved with. Performances on the pitch are always improving and
the team are reaching more finals, scoring more goals, as standards reach all
time highs. And as the advert says or should say ; "The future's bright, the
future's Barons....!"
